Current growth initiatives
The projects department within the Bahrain EDB supports and monitors initiatives to improve the economic and business environment in Bahrain.
Working closely with both the public and private sectors, the team aims to improve economic opportunities within the country and remove barriers to growth.
Each initiative has a project team and a project board, with each group comprising representatives from relevant public sector organisations (Ministries, other government agencies, etc.) and related private stakeholder groups, which leads the development of business-friendly policies.
Improving Bahrain's labour market
Bahrain is already home to a skilled and flexible workforce, meeting the needs of new and traditional businesses. Over the last 18 months, however, new initiatives have been progressed to ensure the strengths of the workforce develop even further in the future.
Under legislation currently passing through Parliament, there will be support for businesses investing in training and development of core and specialist skills for Bahrainis, as well as Government-led initiatives to encourage the development of sector-specific skills within Bahrain.
New systems are also planned for the registration and monitoring of expat employees, to ensure the correct skills are being brought into the Kingdom.
Together, these initiatives will build even further the skills available to employers in Bahrain.
